PAST led a design team consisting of an architectural historian, structural engineers and wood conservators to provide a comprehensive Historic Structure Report for the Petaluma Trestle, a 500-foot long, historic timber railroad trestle, located in downtown Petaluma. The Historic Structure Report provided the first detailed history as well as a structural and materials assessment of the timber structure. PAST worked closely with City staff and the local community to provide a comprehensive planning document to facilitate the preservation of this valued historic resource.

PAST produced HABS photographic documentation to satisfy the mitigation requirement for the expansion of the Crocker Art Museum, an Italianate mansion constructed in 1872 and located in Sacramento, California.

City of South Pasadena, California—Historic Preservation Ordinance

Focusing on legal issues, PAST was an integral part of the consultant team that revised the City of South Pasadena's historic preservation ordinance. PAST's role included ensuring that the ordinance effectively addresses California Environmental Quality Act issues, is consistent with state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the rest of the South Pasadena Municipal Code, and comports with best practices in historic preservation planning.

City of Petaluma, California—Certified Local Government Application

PAST assisted the City of Petaluma in preparing its application to the State Office of Historic Preservation to become the first Certified Local Government in Sonoma County.

City of Sacramento, California—Mills Act Program

Working closely with City staff, PAST developed the City of Sacramento's Mills Act program. Documents included a model Mills Act contract, application form, fact sheet, brochure, City Council resolution to adopt a Mills Act contract, and an annual administration plan.
